Might be the kindest, most community-oriented Indian restaurant, anywhere outside of India. Owners get all the details right yet are relaxed, and efficient, yet utterly respectful (hearing them relate to workers, other customers, each other, and me, with the same, central focus on regard). This makes the food pure, blessed, even, to be made and served with regard. It's also delicious. Do circle to the back of Market of Choice and enjoy this GEM.
This is the best Indian food! Cooked fresh daily and super fast for to go Orders! I love sag (spinach) and the butter chicken! They cook nan in real tandoori oven! Great prices and super friendly people! Kirin w
We love the Taste of India. Our son is a UO freshman, and we try to go here regularly when we come visit. The folks who run this restaurant are the absolute friendliest, with excellent service. The food is very good -- I have enjoyed several dishes, most recently the paneer mattar. Be sure to get some naan to go along with it.
Saag lamb and naan were perfect. So delicious. Would highly recommend. But if you order by GrubHub you won't get utensils, even if you request them.
Excellent lamb curry, lamb tikka masala, veggie samosa, and garlic naan. Very flavorful and super tender meat! Fresh basmati rice. Friendly family-run establishment. Casual place to dine in or take out. Only thing I would critique is the lack of disposal gloves while handling food in the kitchen. Otherwise, delicious and efficient!
I'll admit, this review is a bit biased from the nostalgia of eating at their old location almost weekly when I was in high school, but since then I have been to well reviewed Indian restaurants in cities around the world, including London, Los Angeles, Dubai and Singapore... Hands down I would pick Eugene's Taste of India out of all of them. Exceptional flavor, reasonable prices and always and forever friendly service from the family behind the counter. I don't live in Eugene anymore but will make a point of coming back here whenever I'm in town!
Absolutely loved everything we had at Taste of India. The naan was not burnt and the curries had delicious flavor and perfect amount of heat. The cheesy pakora was a fun appetizer we hadn't tried before. Highly recommend many meals here. A new favorite when we visit Eugene!
